President Trump said Wednesday said the historic meeting between the leaders of China and North Korea had gone ‘very well’ and that Kim Jong Un is eager to hold a summit with Trump, adding that there is now a good chance the North Korean leader will give up his country’s nuclear weapons.

“Received message last night from XI JINPING of China that his meeting with KIM JONG UN went very well and that KIM looks forward to his meeting with me,” Trump tweeted.

“In the meantime, and unfortunately, maximum sanctions and pressure must be maintained at all cost!,” he added after Kim concluded a secretive three day meeting in Beijing with President Xi Jinping.

In an earlier tweet, Trump wrote that “for years and through many administrations, everyone said that peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was not even a small possibility. Now there is a good chance that Kim Jong Un will do what is right for his people and for humanity.”

“Look forward to our meeting!,” Trump added.

  1. The Norks played President Clinton like a fiddle 25 years ago with their false pledge to give up their nuke ambitions. Hopefully President Trump doesn’t make the same mistake.

    • We should all wish President Trump success, regardless of what our personal opinions and politics may be. I remember in the 1980’s when Jesse Jackson went to Libya and got Lt. Robert Goodman released, President Reagan, who despised Jackson, was asked his opinion on Jackson’s mission. His simple answer was “You don’t argue with success”. Halevai politicians nowadays would have this fair-minded attitude.

  2. I hope the president and congress is not holding their breath, delay, delay, lie, etc. keep building the nukes. We are round eyes to most Chinese and Korean people and that makes all the difference, and yes it sounds racist but that is how it is. Ask them, one may tell you the truth.
