In a statement today, former President Donald Trump conveyed that the responsibility of being commander-in-chief is burdensome for his family, leading him to decide against involving his daughter and son-in-law in any potential future presidential administration.

During an interview with Bret Baier of Fox News, Trump, aged 77, was asked whether he would want Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner to join him in the West Wing if he were to secure the presidency in 2024. He unequivocally replied, “No.”

Explaining his stance, Trump shared the conversations he had with his children as he embarked on his third presidential campaign, stating, “I said, that’s enough for the family. You know why? It’s too painful for the family.”

The former president went on to elaborate on the challenges his family has faced, recounting the ordeal his son Eric has endured. Trump described Eric as a remarkable young man, an accomplished student, and an overall fine individual, but emphasized that their lives took a different turn when he decided to pursue the presidency. Trump claimed that he has received an unprecedented number of subpoenas, suggesting that no one in history has experienced such scrutiny.

“My family’s been through [purgatory]. I mean, they have – Eric, my son, who’s a fine boy. You know him very well. He’s a fine young man, good student, good everything, comes in. We’re doing beautifully. Then I decide to run for president. I mean, I don’t think anybody in the world in history has ever had more subpoenas sent to him,” the 2024 GOP presidential front-runner claimed. “Nobody has been through what my family has been through. Ivanka had a really successful line of clothing, I mean, making a fortune. When I did this, she was really – she closed it up. She sort of felt she had to, but she closed it up,” Trump said of his 41-year-old daughter’s decision to shut down her namesake clothing brand in July 2018 while she worked as a White House adviser.

In November 2022, Ivanka announced her decision to abstain from participating in her father’s 2024 presidential campaign, opting to prioritize her young children and the private life they were building as a family. She did not attend the former president’s campaign launch at Mar-a-Lago. In a statement, Ivanka expressed her love for her father but stated her intention to steer clear of politics going forward, affirming, “I do not plan to be involved in politics.” She also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the American people and expressed pride in the accomplishments of their administration.

Similarly, Kushner, who had also served as an adviser to Trump during his time in the White House, has reportedly shown no interest in returning to Washington, DC.

  1. Now you don’t have to keep reporting that they are in a fight with their father…. they just not interested in the radical left attacking them day and night
