President Trump told Bloomberg in an interview Thursday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions will remain in his position until at least the upcoming midterm elections.

“I just would love to have him do a great job,” Trump told the publication in an interview, before departing for a rally in Indiana.

Trump claimed he only appointed Sessions, a key member of his campaign, because he “felt loyalty” and blamed the attorney general for failing to crack down on “corruption” at the Justice Department.

In a rare statement in response, Sessions said that he would “not be improperly influenced” by political pressure.

  1. Every President since JFK has controlled the FBI and sometimes the IRS and used them for his own political purposes with none so heavy handed as Obama. It’s unethical so they did it quietly; they didn’t trumpet it out loud and so publicly.
Trump stupidly shouts from the roof tops his desire to control the FBI. Sessions has no choice, but to refuse to go along. To do otherwise would be to admit to a major breach of ethics.

    • Hey Oyb, FBI and DOJ are not an independent branch of the government, they are part of the executive branch, and as such are supposed to be controlled by the chief executive – the president of the United States. Any shadow governing is an act of unconstitutional power grabbing by unelected bureaucrats – in other words an act of treason.
