During an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier last night, an interesting exchange took place regarding former President Trump’s stance on executing drug offenders. Baier pointed out that under Trump’s plan, individuals like Alice Marie Johnson, a prominent figure who had been previously incarcerated and later pardoned by Trump in 2020, would have been subject to death. Trump seemed initially taken aback by the statement and responded that it would depend on the severity of the offense. He clarified that Johnson, in particular, would not have been killed because the new policy would only apply from that point forward, not retroactively.

In 2020, Trump granted Johnson a full pardon, erasing her conviction and restoring her rights as a citizen. This decision came the day after Johnson delivered a supportive speech at the Republican National Convention, during which she praised Trump’s administration. The pardon followed a prior commutation of her sentence in 2018. Kim Kardashian also played a role in advocating for Johnson’s case to be considered by Trump.

“She’d be killed under your plan,” Baier said.

“Huh?” Trump said after a pause.

“No, no, no. Oh, under that? Uh, it would depend on the severity,” he said. “She can’t do it, OK? By the way, if that was there? She wouldn’t be killed, it would start as of now. So you wouldn’t go to the past.”

He also stated that Johnson would not have committed any crime, if she knew that a potential sentence, if convicted, was her death.

In 2020, one day after she praised his administration during the Republican National Convention, Trump granted a full pardon to Johnson, who had served 22 years of a life sentence on charges related to cocaine distribution and money laundering.

He had already commuted her sentence in 2018, but he issued a surprise pardon – effectively deleting her conviction and restoring her rights as a citizen – the day after she delivered a supportive speech at the RNC.

“We’re going to give a full pardon. We’re going to do it right now. That means you have been fully pardoned. That’s the ultimate thing that can happen. That means you can do whatever you want in life and just keep doing the great job you’re doing,” he told her during an Oval Office event.

  1. He was caught off guard, but there’s a good answer there that he didn’t say clear enough.

He’s saying he wouldn’t go retroactive, and right now it’s not considered a major crime by many people, but once it’s elevated to that degree most people who did it till now won’t do it in the first place.

  2. He’s disclosing stuff trying to wake up the sleeping Woke they should listen between the lines… like his mentioning JFK Jr which they conveniently cut out from this video.
