Donald Trump intensified his mockery of Canada on Wednesday with a pointed post on Truth Social in the early morning. “No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year? Makes no sense!” the president-elect wrote. “Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!”
Trump has previously threatened to introduce a 25 percent tariff on Canadian goods if the country does not take stronger measures to stop the flow of migrants and drugs crossing into the United States.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, where he allegedly warned that such tariffs could devastate the Canadian economy.
In response, Trump suggested that Canada could simply become the 51st state. Since then, the Republican has repeatedly referred to Trudeau as the “governor” of “the Great State of Canada,” even as the Canadian government faces growing turmoil.
This week, the situation worsened with the resignation of Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, who accused Trudeau of being unprepared for an impending “tariff war.”

Most likely already planned a while ago as the US flag on President Trump’s Air Force One has 55 stars!! What are the extra 5 stars? 1 is definitely for Canada.
Tinfoil Hatters have mentioned this on this site several months ago.
Canada and Australia were under the British Commonwealth. Since the English Monarchy will soon be dissolved, Canada and Australia will be joining the US. The other 3 stars are for Puerto Rico, Mexico and the US Virgin Islands.
