President Trump on Thursday night threatened to “get involved” in the work of the Justice Department and FBI if the two agencies don’t “start doing their job,” CNN reports. Speaking at a rally in Indiana, the president railed against the Russia investigation and suggested the Justice Department and FBI had let Hillary Clinton get away with crimes. “What’s happening is a disgrace, and at some point… I wanted to stay out, but at some point, if it doesn’t straighten out properly… I will get involved,” Trump said.
His comments came amid renewed speculation about the fate of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, whom Trump has repeatedly attacked recently. In an interview with Bloomberg News on Thursday, Trump said he’d keep Sessions as attorney general at least until November’s midterm elections are over. “I’d just like to have Jeff Sessions do his job. And if he did, I’d be very happy,” he told Bloomberg.
