President Donald Trump has warned he will send federal officers to New York City to “help out” in the same way they have in Portland and Chicago.
“You look at what they’re doing to cities — every city is run by a liberal Democrat and they’re going to hell,” Trump told Dave Portnoy during an interview on Barstool Sports. “We just sent people in to Chicago. We’ve sent people in to Portland.”
“We’re sending people to New York, to help out.”
Trump’s comments follow a spike in gun violence in New York City. The news comes after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the president promised him he wouldn’t send federal troops to the city.

Many of these folks aren’t federal officers but mercenaries. And they can’t legally carry weapons.
