President Donald Trump will get a White House portrait and presidential library no matter what his plans for the future are, including if he decides to run for president again in 2024.

Though the president is contesting the election in key states, most news outlets, Newsmax not included, have called the election for Democrat Joe Biden. But Trump may not retire from politics should his legal challenges ultimately fail to hold up, The Hill reports.

Trump’s allies have signaled that he is thinking about a presidential run in 2024. Experts say that even if he does run, the timeline on when his portrait will be done and when his library will be commissioned and constructed won’t be affected.

Presidents normally have two portraits commissioned — one that hangs in the National Portrait Gallery and another in the White House — that are unveiled after they leave office, according to The Hill. The Portrait Gallery plans to commission a painting of the Trumps soon, even if Trump decides on a 2024 run, due to the possibility that he loses reelection in four years, a spokesperson said.
