President Donald Trump nudged Congress on the stalled stimulus talks, imploring lawmakers to “get it done,” including direct payments to Americans. Then, he turned his attention to a Jan. 4 rally to boost Republicans for Georgia’s Senate runoffs.

Trump tweeted last Saturday night:

“Why isn’t Congress giving our people a Stimulus Bill? It wasn’t their fault, it was the fault of China. GET IT DONE, and give them more money in direct payments.”

Congress is near a deal with a vote potentially to come Sunday. In the package is a $300-a-week boost for the unemployed and a one-time $600 impact payment to Americans.

Then, on Georgia’s Senate runoffs, Trump added via tweet minutes later:

“As badly as we were treated in Georgia by the ‘Republican’ Governor and ‘Republican’ Secretary of State, we must have a massive victory for two great people, @KLoeffler & @sendavidperdue, on January 5th. I will be having a big Rally for them on Monday night, January 4th. WIN!”
