President Trump had wanted to reward longtime pal and fellow New Yorker Rudy Giuliani by naming him secretary of state or nominating him as a Supreme Court justice but didn’t because of opposition from his inner circle, according to “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”

“The resistance to Giuliani from the Trump circle derived from the same reason Trump was inclined to give him the job – Giuliani had Trump’s ear and wouldn’t let go,” the book says.

Trump also considered nominating him to fill the spot on the High Court left vacant by the death of Antonin Scalia in February 2016.

  1. Not likely to be true. Giuliani isn’t the diplomat type and isn’t into foreign affairs. Attorney general would have been more believable.

  2. Giuliani should be Attorney General Then the internal forces of most of the Departments in the government would be cleaned up and there would be no leaks, no books written about the White House without repercussions. Look how he cleaned up New York City after the mess of Mayors New York had before. When he left it was called a city, now it is a cesspool. Yes I am a New Yorker.
