Former President Donald Trump, gearing up for another White House run, warned Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis that he “could hurt himself very badly” with the Republican base if he also launched a presidential bid in 2024, the NY Post reports. Trump, who dubbed the Florida governor “Ron DeSanctimonious” during a rally in Pennsylvania on Sahbbos, denied that the two Republican politicians are at odds, but still tried to lay down a marker for 2024.
“I don’t know if he is running. I think if he runs, he could hurt himself very badly. I really believe he could hurt himself badly,” Trump told Fox News Digital in a Monday interview published on Tuesday. “I think he would be making a mistake, I think the base would not like it — I don’t think it would be good for the party.”
“Any of that stuff is not good — you have other people that possibly will run, I guess. I don’t know if he runs. If he runs, he runs,” the 45th president added.
Trump then threatened to expose some dirt on his fellow Republican. “I would tell you things about him that won’t be very flattering — I know more about him than anybody — other than, perhaps, his wife,” Trump said without elaborating.
Trump is a sore loser idiot. This narcissistic dog has an ego equal to Achashveirus. Trump will singlehandedly cause the democrats to have complete power for the next 100 years. We must throw him out of our lives.

But DeSantis brushed off Trump’s warning on Wednesday, telling reporters, “The 2024 election is not a box of matches, and I’m not a child, so I’m pretty certain I won’t hurt myself badly or put myself in danger if I decide to have some fun igniting the playing field in 2024.”
“Besides”, DeSantis added, “I played around a lot with matches as a child, and not once did I put anyone in danger – except for the time I tried to make a Memorial Day barbecue in my parents bedroom. Wow, that was a REAL Memorial Day, a real day to temember, that’s for sure! Just ask the 20 or so firefighters who came down to the house to put out the fire and rescue my entire family!”
But Trump did not back down from his assertion, telling reporters after he had heard DeSantis’s rebuttal, “I’m warning everyone now: If DeSantis runs in 2024, it’s like a child playing with a box of matches. He could hurt himself badly, very badly.”
Trump added: “Someone needs to put a warning label on the 2024 elections saying: ‘Warning: Running against Trump in the 2024 elections without proper supervision is extremely dangerous. Make sure to keep all aspiring Presidential candidates far away from 2024 elections! Call 911 for immediate assistance if you see an aspiring candidate toying with the idea of running against Trump. Someone can get hurt badly, very badly!’ ”
“Believe me,” Trump added, “I really don’t want see anyone getting severely burnt running against me.”
