Trump Was Right: Biden First Said He’d Defund Police

President Trump got into it with Fox News’s Chris Wallace on Sunday after the President claimed that his opponent Joe Biden was seeking to defund the police. Democrats and liberals on social media were full of glee that the interviewer called out the Presidnet to deny that Joe Biden ever said such a thing.

However, further research showed that the President Trump was in fact correct on his assertion. Earlier this month on liberal commentator Ady Barkan’s podcast, Biden was asked if he supported defunding the police.

Barkan asked Biden: “[D]o we agree that we can redirect some of the [police] funding?”

Biden responded: “Yes, absolutely.”

After Biden’s clear cut call for redirecting police funds, his campaign went into cleanup mode, denying Biden supported police defunding.

  1. Redirecting /= defund.
So if the Police were being paid $100 million to guard the schools, and then the city decided to give that $100 million bucks to a different organization to guard the schools, that is redirecting. however it is not defunding because the schools are still protected and the police don’t need that money anymore. This is what NYC did to the schools, which there is actually nothing wrong with.

Defunding is when we take back money and don’t pay someone else to do those jobs instead. like what NYC did with the plainclothes unit -that was a bad idea.

  2. Donald Trump simultaneously is running ads criticizing Biden for the Crime Bill and that Biden wants to defund the police. Biden does not want to defund the police, and polling shows that most Americans understand that when people say defund the police they mean to change it not to get rid of it. Donald Trump is the current President of the United States what is going on in this country he owns, this is not Biden’s America. Newsmax is owned by Chris Ruddy, Donald Trump’s good friend.
Clearly there is a bias in what is posted on Matzav. When Matzav refers to Nancy Pelosi as Nasty because she endorses Ilhan Omar, it is misogynistic and poor Midos. I disagree with Ilhan Omar’s idealogy and politics but disagree without insults. It is the same with AOC, it is easy to cast cheap shots at her. I disagree with her politics as well.
Back to Biden, He supports the Police.
Biden said he supports redirecting some police funding to address mental health or to change the prison system.

  3. @A Yid and @FYI
Don’t be semantic idiots. If you redirect funds away from reaching the police, regardless if it goes to a different organisation to do the same job, that is completely equivalent to defunding the police [from having received those funds].
And, whether you support Trump or not, at least don’t be bigger idiots than you already are by supporting Biden.

    • Read Camden police department was changed. They fired everybody and rehired them back at lower salaries. Changed the whole community. Police should not be dealing with the mentally ill they are more likely to kill them. Funds should go to organizations and dept. that can better manage them idiots we are not. When you have to stoop to calling people names it is a sign you are losing the argument. Christie was for the changes in Camden. Semantic Idiots, funny, the Torah is so particular about the words that are Used and nekudos. Nuanced but for you it would be semantic idiots? Don’t read to much into it?
      Bless you.

  4. The guy who wants to defund police is Trump. He proposed huge cuts to the federal program that helps police departments hire officers.

Biden has never called for defunding police. In the Barkan interview he called for an end to giving police departments surplus military equipment. Even Fox News got that one right. Matzav is promoting a lie here.

  5. Biden was asked how much he would spend on Defense. He replied “It depends how high the fence is!” What a dork!
