Today, in honor of Tu B’Shevat tomorrow, Yeshivat Hashalom in Yerushalayim will have special tefillos for those in need of shidduchim. It is brought in seforim that Tu’ B’Shevat is from the same “sefirah” as Tu B’Av, a date on the Jewish calendar that is well known for its connection with finding one’s mate. This is brought in the Sefer Pri Eitz Chaim from the Arizal, and thus Tu B’Shevat is a day that is mesugal for finding one’s shidduch as well.
The tefillos at Yeshivat Hashalom, usually held on the day of Tu B’Shevat, will be held one day early because Tu B’Shevat falls on Shabbos this year.
The special seder hatefillah calls for seven hakafos around a Sefer Torah, the blowing of shofaros, and a special tefillah to banish ayin harah and increase mazel.
