Early Sunday morning, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit released the names of two soldiers from the Givati Brigade who were killed in action in the southern Gaza Strip: First Sergeant Nachman Meir Chaim Vaknin, 20, from Eilat, and Sergeant Noam Bittan, 20, from Moshav Yad Rambam.

On Friday, a combat engineer from the IDF was critically injured during a confrontation with terrorists in Jabalya, located in northern Gaza.

The injured soldier was evacuated for medical care, and his family has been notified.

Throughout the weekend, IDF forces carried out targeted operations against terrorist operatives and infrastructure in eastern Rafah.

In one of these operations, IDF soldiers encountered and neutralized a terrorist armed with an RPG in a nearby compound.

Furthermore, IDF troops conducted specific raids on terror sites, uncovering and confiscating weapons, explosive devices, missiles, and RPGs. During another mission, the troops found and destroyed a launcher within a military compound in the region.

Working in coordination with IDF ground forces, an IAF aircraft targeted and eliminated a high-ranking Islamic Jihad terrorist operative. This individual was the Head of Logistics for the Rafah Brigade in Islamic Jihad and was responsible for equipping the terror group for operations against IDF ground forces in the area.
