menachem-stark-abductionThe NYPD investigation into the murder of Reb Menachem Stark is progressing, and while earlier in the week officials said that the search is “broad,” investigators now say that they are “feeling confident” with their probe.

“We are investigated some leads, some leads are coming in . . . so the case is progressing,” Chief Philip Banks of the NYPD official said during a briefing with reporters, according to Newsday.

Police Chief William Bratton said that some new leads have come in after rewards being offered were increased.

The comments came a day after police released surveillance video that showed one of the attackers prowling in the silver Dodge minivan that was eventually used in the abduction six hours before the incident.

The latest footage has a man wearing a ski cap and mask exiting the minivan and walking toward the intersection of Broadway and Rutledge and then returning to the van.

Police said the van was in proximity of Reb Menachem’s office for a couple of weeks prior to the kidnapping.

Other cameras at two yeshivos close to the gas station in Great Neck, Long Island, where the body was found has some surveillance videos that face Cutter Mill Road and may have captured images of the van. The two schools are the Long Island Hebrew Academy and the Silverstein Hebrew Academy, according to Newsday.
