A rabbi and a 20-year-old man, both wearing yarmulkes, were subjected to anti-Semitic slurs in separate incidents in Germany.

The rabbi, Rabbi Chaim Barkah, was targeted Monday night in Dusseldorf with anti-Semitic slurs and the young man was spit on in Berlin on Sunday night.

“It was a very, very terrible moment,” said the rabbi, who ducked into the community center for safety. “Unfortunately, I can now say I don’t feel safe anymore in Düsseldorf as a Jew. But I am hoping for better times,” he said.

Both incidents are being investigated.
