Two pedestrians, a man and a woman, were seriously injured by a vehicle Wednesday night at the French Hill junction in Yerushalayim as they waited for a bus. Magen David Adom rescue personnel treated the victims and the driver, who was said to be in light condition, Ynet reports.
Police are investigating the possibility of a security incident. Yerushalayim Mayor Nir Barkat arrived at the scene, where police were questioning the driver, who was Arab.
Police said the driver “swerved from his lane and hit two civilians standing at the station,” Ynet reports. Paramedics said the two pedestrians were a man thought to be around 30 and a woman who appeared to be around 20. Both were evacuated to a hospital while sedated and receiving artificial respiration.
