Two Soldiers From Givati Brigade Fell In Battle

The Israeli Defense Forces officially announced this evening that two more soldiers have lost their lives in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Lieutenant (Reserve) Adir Portugal, age 23 and hailing from Mazkeret Batya, served as an officer in the Shaked Battalion of the Givati Brigade.

Staff Sergeant Gal Mishaelof, age 21 and a resident of Modiin, was a soldier in the Tzabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade.

The IDF had previously released the names of two soldiers who perished earlier in the day during the Gaza operations. Sergeant Binyamin Meir Airly, aged 21 and from Beit Shemesh, served in the 101st Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade. Captain (Reserve) Roey Biber, aged 28 and from Tzur Moshe, a moshav in central Israel, contributed to the Yahalom unit of the Israeli Combat Engineering Corps.

Additionally, a soldier from the Paratroopers Brigade sustained severe injuries during a confrontation in the northern Gaza Strip.

Subsequently, the IDF disclosed the identities of three more fallen soldiers later in the day.

Master Sergeant Yakir Biton, a 34-year-old resident of Yerushalayim, served in the 8717th Battalion, 261st Brigade. Sergeant Major Rani Tahan, aged 40 and residing in Sde Nehemia, served in the 8717th Battalion, 261st Brigade. Major Chen Yahalom, aged 35 and from Kfar Azar, served in the 8159th Battalion of the Artillery Corps.

Biton and Tahan lost their lives in a clash with Hamas terrorists in Gaza on Shabbos, while Yahalom was tragically in a car accident on his way back from Gaza.
