Miriam Marc, 77, was sitting in her Midwood apartment on Shabbos when neighbors knocked on her door to draw her attention to the hateful graffiti, made with a red marker.
“I was in shock when I saw it,” Marc told The Post through tears on Sunday. “It was so big and red on both sides of my door. Why [would] they do this?”
The anti-Semitic scrawl is the latest incident in a troubling larger trend sweeping the city this year, according to NYPD statistics. Hate crimes are up 5 percent across the five boroughs, according to the most recent department statistics up through Dec. 23.
