U.S. Sees First Malaria Outbreak Since 2003

For the first time in 20 years, malaria is spreading inside the United States. The Centers for Disease Control says it has identified four cases of the mosquito-borne illness in Florida and one in Texas.

While about 2,000 cases of malaria are diagnosed in the U.S. each year, it’s nearly always in people who were infected internationally. The last time there was a local outbreak was in Palm Beach County, Florida, in 2003. Read more.

  1. The CDC owns over 20 vaccine patents, including covid-19 vaccine, but the people have stopping injecting themselves. So out comes malaria, hoping it’ll get the public to run for some shots.
