Ukrainian police are looking for a man who tried to break into a shul in the city of Mariupol with an axe.
The shul’s security guard managed to fight off the axe-wielding attacker, suffering head and hand injuries during the struggle, the official Ukrainian news agency UNIAN reported.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Cohen, the chief rabbi of Donetsk, was in the shul at the time of the attack with several community members.
