The two remaining victims of the Bnei Brak terror attack were foreign workers who were not able to immediately be identified. They are now known to have been two men named Sasha and Dima, from Ukraine. They are pictured here:

As previously reported, of the first three victims, one victim is R’ Avishai Yechezkel Hy”d, 29, an alumnus of Yeshiva Mishkenos Hatorah who was a rebbi at Talmud Torah Ohr Dovid. He is survived by his wife, who is expecting, and one child, a 2-year-old son. His levayah will be held at his home this morning at 9:30 a.m.

The second victim was Bnei Brak resident R’ Yaakov Yisroel Shalom, 36, who was shot while driving in his car. He is survived by his wife and two children. He was a son of Rabbi Meir Shalom, a prominent leader of the Teimani kehillah in Beni Brak, who was niftar last year from Covid. His levayah will be held at his home this morning at 11 a.m.

The third victim was a police officer, identified as Amir Khoury, an Arab Israeli from the northern town of Nof Hagalil. The 32-year-old served on the Bnei Brak police station’s motorcyclist responders team. He leaves behind his parents and two sisters. Khoury was together with other police who caught up with the gunman – 26-year-old Diaa Hamarsheh, a Palestinian from the town of Ya’bad near Jenin in the West Bank, who was in Israel illegally – and killed him, ending the deadly shooting spree. However, Khoury was hit by gunfire and later died at Beilinson Medical Center.

  1. During the days of King Achav, the Yidden went into battle, they won the war, no one died and no one got hurt. The Midrash explains that there was a lot of unity in Klal Yisroel in those days. There was no inside fighting amongst Klal Yisroel. People actually got along with each other. When there is a real Achdus (everyone getting along), then no one will get hurt.
