United Hatzalah of Israel volunteers and ambulance teams transported 31 carless people from Elad who needed to get tested for Covid-19 Coronavirus to a drive-through testing center on Sunday in order to get tested properly for the virus. On Monday, the program will expand to include people who are without cars in Bnei Brak as well.

Vice President of Operations for United Hatzalah Dov Maisel spoke about the new operation: “United Hatzalah’s humanitarian dispatch center has received dozens of requests from residents who were unable to go to the testing center as they do not own cars. They requested our help in getting to the drive-through center so that they could get tested properly to determine whether or not they re carriers of the virus. There are many families in the Charedi community who do not own cars and we had to come up with a solution to assist them. Yesterday we utilized three ambulances in the city of Elad to shuttle people from their homes to the testing center and back. Today we will be operating five additional ambulances in Bnei Brak for the same purpose.”
