An American woman who murdered a pregnant girl in order to steal her baby was put to death by lethal injection Wednesday, becoming the first female to be executed by US federal authorities in nearly seven decades.

The US Justice Department said Lisa Montgomery, 52, was pronounced dead at 1:31 am Eastern Time at a penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana.

It said the execution was “in accordance with the capital sentence unanimously recommended by a federal jury and imposed by the US District Court for the Western District of Missouri.”

The US Supreme Court cleared the way for Montgomery’s execution just hours earlier — despite doubts about her mental state — after the government of US President Donald Trump had pushed for the application of the death penalty.

  1. Thank G-d for the US Military Tribunal where many elite criminals have been coronavirused the last few years.

  2. So now Trumps a murderer too!! This article says so pretty clearly – as will most certainly be understood by his opponents.

  3. Not that she elicits much of my pity, but this was a sick, sick person and she should have received mental health help well before the horrific murder. How many more such people are roaming around?

I do have some pity for her children.
