A former US Army officer has stated that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is using Israeli hostages as human shields to protect himself and his family, according to a report by Sky News.

General Jack Keane, former US Army Vice Chief of Staff, revealed that Sinwar has between 15 to 20 hostages surrounding him and his family in Gaza. Keane emphasized that this tactic is aimed at ensuring their survival.

“My sources tell me that Sinwar, who is the number one leader in Gaza of the Hamas organization, has 15-20 hostages protecting him and his family,” Keane told Sky News, adding, “That’s why they have these hostages to guarantee their survival.”

Keane further supported Israel’s military actions to pressure Hamas into releasing the hostages, stating, “Israel is absolutely right in putting military pressure on them to force the release of the hostages.”

The report echoes a similar claim made in February by the Washington Post, which suggested that Sinwar was hiding in tunnels beneath Khan Yunis, surrounded by a human shield of hostages to deter capture or killing attempts by the IDF.

Hamas has previously refused to release all 40 hostages demanded by Israel, insisting on releasing between 20 to 33 hostages only. They claimed difficulty in locating the remaining hostages, suggesting that it would require a ceasefire of several weeks to do so.

  1. Emulating their heinous predecessors, especially Arafat. On a side note, if Al Gore, John Kerry, and Nancy Pelosi can get the Medal of Freedom, why can’t the Epsteins?
