U.S. Rejects Clemency for Snowden

edward-snowdenThe White House and several top members of Congress has rejected Edward Snowden’s plea for international help in dropping the espionage charges against him.

“Mr. Snowden violated U.S. law,” said White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer. “He should return to the U.S. and face justice.”

German MP Hans-Christian Stroebele met with Snowden in Moscow last week, where the fugitive leaker has started working as an IT specialist. “Speaking the truth is not a crime,” Snowden wrote in a letter seeking help. But the White House was not swayed, saying this week that no clemency offers were being discussed. Read more at BBC News.
