The United States has decided to provide Israel with THAAD air defense systems, which will help intercept ballistic missiles, according to a CNN report. The deployment of these advanced systems will begin immediately.
The THAAD system, considered one of the most effective air defense mechanisms the U.S. possesses, is capable of intercepting missiles at high altitudes, even beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Israel requested the batteries to enhance its defense in anticipation of a possible Iranian retaliation following a planned Israeli military strike.
Recently, the U.S. has made it clear to Israel that it does not support an attack on significant Iranian targets, particularly as the U.S. presidential elections are approaching next month. At the same time, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia have made it known that they will not permit Israel to use their airspace for any potential strikes against Iran.
Israeli sources told CNN during a conversation on Friday that the Israeli cabinet has not yet reached a final decision regarding the planned response to Iran’s missile attack.
The U.S., however, denied the report, saying that no final decisions have been made on the matter.

THAAD takes time to learn.
It is a highly complex and technical system that cannot be deployed by people untrained on the system.
Even Patriot operators are generally not cross trained on THAAD.
What this means to me is one of two things:
Either, it will initially be staffed by American THAAD operators.
Or, the Israelis have sent some people for training a while back anticipating this acquisition.
We also have to worry about missiles that fly below the radar, as was the one that landed in Binyaminah without triggering an alarm and causing such devastation.
Keep davening.
