The Postal Service announced Wednesday that it is canceling its money-saving plan to stop delivering mail on Saturdays, citing the new stopgap budget passed by Congress that prohibits it from following through with the measure.

In February, the Postal Service announced that ending Saturday mail would save the agency $2 billion a year. But language in a short-term funding plan approved by Congress and meant to overhaul the Postal Service includes language for six days of delivery. Read more here.
