Members of Bibi Netanyahu’s coalition from the chareidi parties insist on work stoppage for rail maintenance on the Shabbos, despite prime minister and Ministry of Transportation position that works must be allowed to proceed during the weekend.
“We will provide our own expert who will show that there is no critical need to work on Shabbos,” Uri Maklev from the United Torah Judaism party said in a contentious meeting held on Sunday.

There’s no reason they have to work on Shabbos. Only in Israel do they block all traffic lanes when repairing highways.
