With the end of the Shmittah year, Kibbutz Chofetz Chaim – which shuts down all agricultural work completely during Shmittah – published its harvest data for the last decade.
The data is astounding.
It clearly shows that the output of the sixth year was double a regular year.
As Hashem promises: “ וְצִוִּיתִי אֶת בִּרְכָתִי לָכֶם בַּשָּׁנָה הַשִּׁשִּׁית וְעָשָׂת אֶת הַתְּבוּאָה לִשְׁלֹשׁ הַשָּׁנִים– And I commanded my blessing to you in the sixth year, and you did the harvest for the three years” (Vayikra 25).
The kibbutz stops working in the fields for a whole year every seven years. From the data collected in the kibbutz over the past decade, it can be clearly seen that in the sixth year – in 2021 and before that in 2014, the farm’s land provided twice the profit of other years.
See the data above.

Never a doubt in my mind. Kol Hakavod.
The havtacha is that the 6th year will produce 3 times the regular, not 2 times.
It’s got to be a triple year not a double year
I’m unemployed due to no fault of my own and yet no one is helping me. Why only those farmers who keep shmitta are being supported?
