The Supreme Court rejected objections of the Peace Now organization and the Arab Municipality of Chevron to the Chizkiyohu Project, a 31-unit six-floor apartment building under construction at a former wholesale market in the Jewish section of the city.
The building will be part of a larger complex of 60 units.
The court agreed that the project violates municipal planning regulations. Nonetheless, it said, because the Arab municipality refuses to promote Jewish neighborhoods in Chevron, the West Bank Civil Administration has the right to promote Jewish projects in the city according to its own rules.
