  1. Our rabbonim shlita are not Hollywood celebrities. Their every move doesn’t have to be photographed and beamed all over the world. They cannot get into a car, take a walk, converse with someone or even sit shiva without some yenta of a paparazzo shoving a camera in their face and plastering the pictures all over the pages of some rag or other. (I have personally witnessed these overzealous paparazzi planting themselves under the chuppah in such a way as to prevent the official hired photography from properly doing his job. They also have little or no regard for the convenience of the baalei simcha when it comes to positioning themselves and have actually forced the mothers of the chosson and kallah to leave their children’s side and stand outside the chuppah.)
Where is our respect for our gedolim? Are photos more important than their kovod? Why can’t the photographers, websites and newspapers ask reshus before they invade a gadol’s home or crash a rosh yeshiva’s family simcha? Don’t assume that they like having lenses shoved in their faces. I know for a fact that they don’t.
Let’s start giving them the respect they deserve. Be a mentsch. Ask before you snap their picture.

  2. #2 Lakewood Bubby: I agree with you %100 percent. I’ve been saying the same for years. Its the same thing with Matzav showing every single Rebbe/Rosh Yeshiva/Chacham/Nachmanite etc etc lighting their Chanuka Menora! WHO CARES?! WHY MUST WE SEE IT?! Total “dumbing down of Yiddishkeit”! Matzav and the other “Heimisha” media outlets are making a Chillul Hashem by showing us a picture or video
