lakewood-cheder-campus-small[Video below.] Lakewood, NJ – The Lakewood Cheder on Tuesday celebrated its move to the newly constructed building on Vassar Avenue.

Talmidim, rabbeim, menahelim and parents joined the roshei yeshiva of Beth Medrash Govoha in welcoming a Sefer Torah into the new building of Lakewood Cheder. The Sefer Torah, which had been at their previous location on James Street, received its welcome at the newly constructed Seventh and Eight Grade location on Vassar Avenue.

Despite the rain outdoors, the large crowd gathered in an immense display of kovod hatorah inside the enormous room that will, b’eh, be constructed to house the rest of the Lakewood Cheder classes. Once complete, the largest frum school in America will iy”h have the largest  building.

The Rosh Hayeshivah, Rav Aryeh Malkiel Kotler shlit”a, flanked by hundreds of kinderlach and their Rabbeim, set the tone for the new welcome. He explained how we need to view ourselves as part of the royal palace of the pamalia shel ma’alah and not as outsiders. He explained that the mekomos hatorah are part of the inner most chambers of the Ribbono Shel Olams palace. He ended off by saying how the newest tremendous makom Torah will certainly earn its prestigious place in the highest and most inner chambers of Hash-ms palace.

There was amazing warmth which permeated the huge room as the dancing went on with such bren and  geshmak. You couldn’t help smiling at such an awesome sight, ka”h , of a thousand or so pure neshamos being mesameach with the welcoming of a Sefer Torah.
