larry-king[Video below.] Last night, on Larry King Live, CNN’s most popular man announced he will be retiring in the fall. The announcement caught people off guard, including some of Larry’s friends. After the announcement, but while he was spending time with his guest Bill Maher, a few familiar faces called in to ask if this announcement was for real.

The CNN host will give up his nightly show, which has been struggling in the ratings, after 25 years with the network.

“I’ll still be a part of the CNN family, hosting several Larry King specials on major national and international subjects,” he said in his statement. The move will give “me more time for my wife and I to get to the kids’ little league games,” wrote the 76-year-old King.

“I’m incredibly proud that we recently made the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot. With this chapter closing I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders.”

  1. I don’t understand Matzav. One minute you are all Yeshivish, Kavod Hatorah, heavy editing of comments, we are the premiere “Torah” wesite, kahaina vikohaina… And then a minute later you go right down the sewer with manure on top of manure!!! Your “reporting” of this neoff, oisvurf talking chillul Hashem is shocking!

You can edit this comment like you always do but this shows that your staff are immature hypocrites!!!

  2. 8, good to know the pintele yid is still there buried under it all. Most people associate with Larry King with superficial, softball interviews and serial marriages.
