The song is an old Ruzhiner niggun which was sung before the war to Lo Sevoshi. The early secular Zionists that left observance and came to Eretz Yisroel took that niggun and put it to the words of Hava Nagilah.
The Rebbe said before they sang this song, that we no longer have the koach to be “Metaher” a niggun. However, we can reclaim an old niggun that has been taken away. He then said that this is an old Chassidishe niggun, and that it should be reclaimed. Then the chasidim sang (without words).
I am not sure what the point of this is. Its obvious that the video is fake so why post something like this to try and imply that its real?
According to wikipedia, the tune is a Sadigurer niggun. Let’s not read anything into this.

I heard that the lubavitcher Rebbe was very against this tune?
