chavrusah-tumult-bmg[Video and photos below.] Lakewood, NJ – A large crowd gathered yesterday at Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ, to kick off the tri-annual chavrusah tumult that takes place before each zeman – winter, spring, and at the beginning of Chodesh Elul.

Following chavrusah tumult, and chaburos and seats  will be finalized for the thousands of talmidim in the yeshiva. The yeshiva has appointed special memunim tasked with the responsibility of helping any talmid who requires a chavrusah or chaburah.

This zeman, the official yeshiva mesechta is Maseches Bava Kamma. In various botei medrash, the yeshiva has chaburos devoted to covering virtually every area of Shas and poskim, offering many options for the yeshiva‘s talmidim to choose from.

  1. FYI: The chavrusa tumult is bi-annual, not tri-annual. There is no chavrusa tumult before Elul zman; talmdim are expected to maintain the same chavrusa, chabura, etc. from the previous zman. many switch anyway, but as new seats are not allocated, for Elul and no new bochurim are accepted, there really isn’t much of a tumult, even unofficially.

  2. I remember when I met my first Chavrusa. It was a cold day and I lost my jacket that very morning. I was outside and this handsome young fellow 9you know who you are) came over and offered me his coat. Since then, we share grandchildren and many wonderful experiences.

  3. i would luv if you could get pictures of inside the yeshiva. Many of us mothers never get to see what it looks like. We would find it fascinating.
    Thank you!

And thanks for these photos and video!

  4. I especially like the feet pictures because they are very important. Without them, you can’t get anywhere and they don’t get enough attention.
    Shkoyach!!
