[Video and photos below.] On Friday, Camp Ahavas Torah broke out color war from the skies – literally. An airplane carrying a banner reading “Color War at Camp Ahavas Torah” made its way around central Lakewood, NJ, drawing stares from thousands of onlookers for miles around. Camp Ahavas Torah is located in the Tashbar Elementary School building at the corner of Princeton Avenue and Seventh Street in Lakewood.

Very impressive. Camps should not be wasting money on this nonsense
It would be a great way to fake another camp. Hire a plane to fly over without telling them.
People dont have food to eat but they have money to blow on a plane shlepping a sign!?
What a poor lesson and waste of money on unecessary gashmuis.
Is this what we want to teach our children?
And what Torah value does this teach our children?
Is it that haTorah Chasa Al Memoinah Shel Yisrael?.
Now lets go on another emergency appeal to help cover Schar Limud
Chill let them have agood time. These kids are under enough pressure during the year. Let the camp spend money thats what parents expect after paying to go to camp!
people dont have food to eat – maybe u should sell your computer and feed them
Big deal. Camp Kol Simcha did this years ago in Lakewood. Do something original at least.
what a huge waste of money. did they get air clearance to fly that plane? im guessing not.
WE LOVE AHAVAS TORAH!!!
WE LOVE AHAVAS TORAH!!!
WE LOVE AHAVAS TORAH!!!
This is the first year I sent my two boys to Ahavas Torah, having sent them to a different camp the past years! It is a terrificly well run camp with Ahavas Torah and yiras shomayim the underlying them to everything they do! We get A LOT for our money, really a lot! They’ve give our kids so much fun, my son doesn’t want to miss it for nothing. And they deserve it! Eleven months in school without ANY THING extracurricular other than a trip at the end of the year! Yes, the boys deserve it.
Chazak V’amatz, CAMP AHAVAS TORAH!
To #9 ‘classymom’,
The lakewood airport actually has a company that offers this service (flying banners). Of course, its legit.
Where in the article does it say that they paid money? You have to be “dan lekaf zechus”.
Did you take your medication yet? Sure, ask any pilote who owns a plane. Of course they will do it for free. Who in his right mind would charge? Time for your nap.
