groundbreaking-for-lakewood-commons-phase-2-15[Video and photos below.] Lakewood, NJ – Yesterday, NJ HAND announced the beginning of construction of Lakewood Commons Phase II and conducted a groundbreaking ceremony on Coles Way .Lakewood Commons Phase II will consist of 58 units of three and four bedroom affordable housing units, and will be basically similar to the design of the units at Lakewood Commons I.

Beginning November 1, applications will be available to enter the lottery. The price of the units has not been finalized. Units may be priced as low at $133,000 and possibly go up to $250,000.

Leading the groundbreaking ceremony was Lakewood Mayor Menashe Miller. He was joined by Deputy Mayor Steve Langert, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, State Senator Bob Singer, and Township Committeeman Isaac Ackerman.

Township Committeeman Ray Coles, an ardent advocate for affordable housing in Lakewood, was unable to attend.

Rabbi Shmuel Lefkowitz, President NJ HAND, INC., thanked the Lakewood Township Committee, Beth Medrash Govoha, Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin, Rabbi Zevi Busel, Mike McNeil and others for their support.
