rav-moshe-meir-weiss[Video below.] Yesterday, the wedding of a son of Harav Moshe Meir Weiss, mara d’asra of Agudath Israel of Staten Island, NY, and his Rebbetzin took place. The kallah is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shlomo Jaeger. At the chupah, prior to the recital of the brachos, Rav Weiss, who is a popular Daf Yomi maggid shiur and noted speaker, addressed the chosson and kallah, sharing words of inspiration and chizuk upon the auspicious occasion of their marriage. The crowd was very moved by the remarks, especially when Rav Weiss recognized the many in attendance and all over the world who themselves are still in search of their zivuggim or other yeshuos.

  1. That should be the approach to every marriage .
Make each other the most important person in your life, and you will have a happy marriage.

  2. In the past century it was very popular for rabbis to speak under the chuppah. bring back the minhag and quiet down the talkers.

  3. That is the most beautiful thing I have heard or seen at a wedding.
May Rav Weiss and his rebbetzin have much nachas and gezunt.
    Thanks for posting this inspiration.

  4. There should at least be one speaker at every chasunah, and that should be the ba’al simcha (the kallah’s father). Of course, if the chosson’s father wants to speak, that’s fine as well. These speeches should be at the dinner, not under the chupah. Of course, if they wnat one Rav to speak under the chuppah, that’s fine. No speech should be more than 5 minutes, however.

  5. Mazel Tov to Rav and Rebbitzin Weiss, the Machetonim and the Chosson and Kallah. What an inspiring speech by Rav Weiss. We tend to forget that the Chupah is a very serious occasion and that Shaarei Shomayim are open and waitng for our tefilos. We should take advantage of this opportunity to daven for ourselves and for those who need our tefilos rather than use the time of the Chupah to shmooze and yente with our neighbors in the “audience”. We should also remember that the time of the Chupah avails us an opportunity to answer “AMEN” (after each one of the Brochos. This is not an easy task when there is so much noise and talking during the chupah. We underestimate the power in this one small word! May we all be zoiche to many more simchas in Klal Yisroel! AMEN!!!

  6. i consider Rabbi Weiss to be my tape Rabbi even though i live in israel

BTW does anyone know where to find Rabbi Weiss’s UP TO DATE Dav Yomi online

    thanks

  7. Mordy, do you have any idea who the baalei simcha are? Their chashuve titles as well as the great depth they bring to this personally?
