steve-jobs[Video below.] Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates of Stanford University to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life’s setbacks — including death itself — at the university’s 114th Commencement on June 12, 2005.

Jobs died yesterday at age 56.

  1. He discovered principles that are similar to the eternal truths of our holy Torah but he didn’t go far enough.

    His principle of something early in one’s life being an unexpected preparation for things later was incomplete. The reality is that Hakodosh Boruch Hu prepares myriad things for us to serve us much later. This is part of the Hashgacha of the Melech hatov to do chesed to his creations. Unfortunately, he missed the Divine influence involved.

  2. The idea of living each day like the last one before you die has been mentioned by numerous gedolim as well (R’ Gifter ZTL for one comes to mind). Appropriate thought for the yomim noraim as well.

  3. to #4 – correct – and he also says DONT listen to dogma, FOLLOW your heart – – – completely contrary to the Shma’. Of course, I agree with **HIM**
