When The Special Children Center was first opened by extraordinary teenagers, their mission was to give families the strength and support they need to raise a child with special needs at home in a warm and loving environment. Little did they know, now – 20 years later they would still be holding onto the very same mission, though now servicing over 450 children!! There is minimal state funding for the services The Center provides, but that doesn’t stop them! The families rely on The Center’s support to literally function day to day!!

TODAY, The Center will be launching their 6th Annual 5k Run! Their only local fundraising campaign and The largest athletic event in the community!!
