gibbs[Video below.] White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had a little fun at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s expense on Tuesday. Let’s put it this way, he extended his hand but it wasn’t the right hand of fellowship he was giving the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

As reported on Monday, it was noticed that Palin had written notes to herself on her palm when she spoke to the Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tenn. over the weekend.

So Gibbs showed up at Tuesday’s White House briefing with notes written on his left palm. He was in the middle of discussing President Barack Obama’s bipartisan olive branch to Republicans on health care and other issues, when reporters asked him about his ink-stained hand.

MR. GIBBS: Just like I don’t think they’re going to — they’re going to bring their ideas to the table, right? They’re going to bring the ideas that — and there are some in their party that want to do away with, as you saw during the presidential campaign, the entire — I wrote a few things down — (laughter) — I wrote, “eggs, milk, bread.” (Laughter.) I crossed out “bread,” just so I could make pancakes for Ethan if it snows. Then I wrote down “hope” and “change” just in case I forgot them.

  1. I think it’s funny. Especially funny after Palin mocked the notion of hope and change (calling it hopey and changey) in her speech. This hand thing has generated a lot of funny things on the internet. I’m enjoying it.

  2. Gibbs is a loser. See Drudge for an article today how the press has lost their initial infatuation with him. Plus, Palin herself already poked fun of herself and on the next day, wrote on her palm “Hi Mom!”
    Get a life.

  3. I guess Palin does not understand satire and she complains about telaprompter, what a hypocrite. Palin’s hand trick just shows all of us what kind of dullard we are up against, I have not seen this since junior high. WOW and some call her a leader….please.

  4. I realize that Palin was an easy mark, but the way Gibbs did it lacked some of the dignity he should bring to the table, or podium.

  5. I guess you failed to watch President Obama answer questions at the GOP retreat in Baltimore, no telaprompters or crib notes on the hand. But I guess those facts would only blow you mis-guided perception of reality. Palin is now a victim, poor little Beauty Queen from smallville, who could not finish her highest office that she ever held, quit making excuses for her she will only take you down the drain with her. She is so perfect for “Fake News”, so much for being a private citizen. Keep plucketing that chicken.
