[Videos below.] Last night, Chaim Dovid Saracik, popular singer from the Old City of Yerushalayim, was in Lakewood, NJ, where he sang at a special melava malka at the Chalonei Rokea shul, founded by Dr. Moshe Rothkopf. The event was held in memory of Dr. Rothkopf’s mother, Sara bas Eliezer Rothkopf a”h.
Chaim Dovid spent the entire Shabbos at Chalonei Rokea, leading the davening there and sharing words of inspiration.
Entry to last night’s melava malka was by paid admission only. The event began with singing by Avraham Danziger, with Moshe Rothkpf on keyboard, followed by Chaim Dovid.
Moshe Rothkpf heads the Chalonei Rokea shul in Lakewood, which he founded over a decade ago. The Chalonei Rokea branch in Yerushalayim, located at 34 Rechov Chabad, is known to many as the Carlebach Minyan of the Old City.

A KIDDUSH HASHEM ? I thought a Kiddush Shem Shomayim was something more substantial. No?
Maybe doing a Mitzvah before a Tzibbur, Msiras Nefesh for Torah and Chesed, but have we fallen so far that a concert is now a Kiddush Hashem?

It was a Melava Malka Kumzitz in honor of R’ Moshe’s mother A”H. It brings people together and creates a warm feeling. There are many people there who themselves do things to spread the light of Torah Judaism. Sincerely, Anon! Shal-m!
