Violent demonstrations have erupted all over Israel as Arabs nationwide have taken to the streets to protest the newly implemented metal detectors at Har Habayis.

Protests have been taking place all week, but Muslim religious leaders in the region have called for Friday to be a ‘Day of Rage,’ with Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) releasing a chant for the occasion which incites Muslims to avenge Israel’s security measures. Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) also released propaganda, calling on Palestinians to attack Jews.

In response, Arab citizens have unleashed the largest wave of violence in recent memory, coming out in full force in the streets of East Jerusalem, the Gaza border, and near the al Aqsa Mosque.

At least 14 busses have been stopped by Israeli police on their way to bring Arabs from Northern Arab villages to join the protests today in the old city. Entry to Har Habayis, initially banned for anyone under the age of 50, has now been blocked off for everyone. Police have also put up roadblocks on Kvish 1,6 and the 443.

Two terrorist have been reportedly shot dead while attacking Israeli forces, one at the Gaza border and one in East Jerusalem. An additional 193 have been wounded along with the dozens of arrests.

Four officers trying to restore order have also been wounded.

Stay tuned for updates.
