do you provide job placement?
I have heard that it is difficult to find a social work job these days in the tri-state area
I have heard that although they used to say they do provide job placement (they may still say they do I don’t know), they don’t actually have a team that provides job placement, but rather tells alumni to apply for jobs at places that have heard are hiring.
This would be fine if they were active in the market, but the recommendations they give are outdated, eg. go apply to LCSC and Chemed, neither of whom are currently hiring LSWs.
So you need to get a job for at least 2 years to become an LCSW before you can go and apply to get a job at the places that their “placement team” recommends.
They also don’t provide guidance on how to handle your student debt which leaves many of their struggling alumni in hot water making payments they cannot afford instead of guiding them to sign up for an IBR (income based repayment).
In short, once you graduate you are likely to be left high and dry.
