Voters Head To The Polls For NJ Primary, Lakewood Features Heated Battle

matzav-lakewoodPolls have opened for today’s primary in New Jersey. Voters have until 8 p.m. to select the candidates who will run in the November election.

In Lakewood, the Republican primary for Lakewood Township Committee features a battle between Deputy Mayor Steven Langert, Harold “Hal” Halverson and Hershel Herskowitz.

At the end of this year, the three-year terms of Committeeman Ray Coles and Deputy Mayor Langert are up. Coles, a Democrat, will be seeking reelection.

Moshe Raitzik, a Democrat, is also seeking a seat on the committee.
