Move over Park Place, Boardwalk and Marvin Gardens. The newest edition of Monopoly puts the Kosel Hamaarovi, Machane Yehuda and Israel Museum on the game board.

HAARETZ reports that the world’s largest toymaker, Hasbro, has teamed up with Israel’s KodKod to market the latest version of the decades old, rainy day favorite, an Israeli-themed game called Yerushalayim Monopoly.

The board features 28 tourist destinations, and appears in both English and Hebrew, a press release from a public relations firm representing the company says.

Yerushalayim Monopoly is the first version of the 81-year-old game developed in Israel, and is soon expected to be marketed not only in Israel but in many other countries as well.

The real question is: Will the Monopoly have Mir Yerushalayim, Yeshivas Brisk, Yeshivas Rav Tzvi Kaplan, Yeshivas Rav Dovid Soloveitchik, To Mo, and Ner Mo on its board?

  1. Now in addition to the regular meshulochim collecting for diros they promised, we will have imaginary ones too….

I also never realized that the Kosel Plaza was the name of a little red hotel.

  2. There is no ‘real question.’ Who cares what they have on their board?! You are so wrapped up in your own little world that you think everybody needs to conform to your world view. Just say it’s a nice new twist on and old game and leave it at that.
