Warren Says ‘Everything On The Table’ To Halt Settlement Expansion

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said on Oct. 19 that all options will be considered to prevent Israel from ramping up settlement building in the West Bank, including cutting aid to the Jewish state, according to a report in The Hill.

A reporter asked Warren during a campaign event if she would “make aid to Israel conditional on freezing settlements.” Warren replied, “Right now, Netanyahu says he is going to take Israel in a direction of increasing settlements; that does not move us toward a two-state solution. It is the official policy of the United States of America to support a two-state solution, and if Israel is moving in the opposite direction, then everything is on the table.”

In July, Warren told an IfNotNow activist “I’m there” when they urged her to “push the Israeli government to end the occupation.” Jewish groups like the Progressive Zionists of California (PZC) have expressed concern over the Warren campaign’s hiring IfNotNow Co-Founder Max Berger in June, citing his agreement with the BDS movement.

“If your staff includes someone who openly wishes Israel to disappear, you will lose the trust of many of your supporters and your pro-Israel bona fides will disappear,” PZC founding members Susan George and Paul Kujawsky wrote in a July 15 letter to the Warren campaign.

Democratic Majority for Israel CEO Mark Mellman told Jewish Telegraphic Agency that Warren’s campaign manager, Roger Lau, told him that Berger is not involved in “Israel policy or Jewish outreach.” When JTA asked Mellman what he thought of Lau’s explanation, he replied, “Who candidates choose to put in positions of influence in their campaigns says a lot.”

  1. As a slightly-to-the-right political centrist I’ve voted Republican more often than Democratic in the past, but I have voted for Democratic candidates in both local and nation elections, depending on the issues I feel are important, the candidates’ stances, and their histories.
Now that the Democratic party has shifted strongly toward an anti-Israel stance, and their leading presidential candidates are tripping over themselves to condemn Israel, its Prime Minister, and much of its population as racists who they can’t wait to punish, my vote for the foreseeable future is solidly on the Republican side – and most of my friends and relatives who I’ve discussed this with feel the same way.
With Israel facing existential threats from its many enemies on a daily basis, I view supporting it as a matter of pikuach nefesh.

  2. since when is this her business? trump is under investigation because of alleged conspiracies with another country, so where does she, or any other americans, get the chutzpah of telling how israel shoue–must–behave?

  3. Honey mad lady. Trash concise amusement. The democrats are just a tenth of a plan and worse the world they serve.

    Stick service.

  4. Warren or Bl$$mberg will NOT be the ultimate candidate. Hillary Clinton WILL be the Democrat nominee for President. It will be a repeat of Trump versus Clinton. The corrupt DNC controlled media have already decided that. This whole debate stage competition is one big charade, a sham. You gullible sheeple still believe that O’Rourke or Yang have a legitimate shot. You’re crazy. Stop believing everything some brainless hostess on MSNBC spews forth.

    • She still needs to file for all 50 states and 100 days to the Iowa Caucuses. I’d say time has already run out for that aspiration.
