One year ago, a fire broke out at the studio of renowned radio host Nachum Segal in Manhattan today, destroying the studio and burning many of the memorable and valuable items there.

It was devastating. But our dear friend Nachum, not one to give up, launched an effort to rebuild.

Today, bechasdei Hashem, he unveiled his new studio on Grand Street in Manhattan, a place from where he can continue to spread beautiful music with messages of Torah and chizuk.

At the event, the mezuzah on the studio was affixed by MTJ rosh yeshiva Rav Berel Feinstein, the Segals and Feinstein going back for many years on the Lower East Side.

Rav Dovid Goldwasser, who for decades has delivered morning chizuk on Nachum’s program, cut the ribbon and offered divrei chizuk.

Nachum has hosted his Jewish Moments in the Morning – JM in the AM – program since September 1983 every morning from 6 to 9 a.m. Throughout the day, the Nachum Segal Network has a number of different programs.

A graduate of Mesivta Ohr Torah in Riverdale and Yeshiva University’s Yeshiva College, Segal began his radio career at the Yeshiva University campus radio station WYUR in 1981. Nachum’s presentation of music, news, and community events have accompanied tens of thousands of listeners through their morning routine. Nachum has also served as Master of Ceremonies for major New York area concerts and Jewish events.
