Yes.
Zionism is a religion even to religious Zionists They prioritize medinat yisroel to equal with Torah and even above Torah they try to make Zionism into Torah when it is not it is not even close it’s actually the opposite of Torah so Zionism can never go with Torah Judaism.. ever. And this rabbi is trying to make believe somehow it can he is wrong flat out wrong.
I will be melamed zechus that you are not aware, but this is a very prominent Rabbi. He is the Mashgiach at Yeshiva Staten Island for over 40 years now; He is from the greatest Talmidim of Rav Moshe Feinstein; He founded Oorah. If someone is wrong in this Hashkafik “argument”, no doubt it is you.
Sadly, many people, including rabbis, in Chutz Le’aretz have no clue what “religious zionism” is.
When one sees a complicated situation it will depend on if he will be “dan likaf zechus” or “dan likaf chov”. A hater will always be dan likaf chov so your outlook and understanding of this huge group of Torah observant Yidden took a nasty turn. “This Rabbi” on the other hand sees things with the Torah perspective.

No one is obligated to follow any one Non-Mumche, non Samuch Chacham ( Rav).
RZ can also be dangerous Mosrim, as they apply “Dina D’Malchuta” to “Medina Yisrael Moderni” based on their understanding of Kaballah. OF COURSE the RZ Kehila is kosher in therms of Shabbat and Kasruth…certainly no worse beit din than B’Datz Aduth Haredi who also have a “Eruv Chatzeroth.” ( a non Talmud veiw of Reshut Harabim).
May Hashem Send his Melachim to bring us to Teshuvah, and I do not count myself out form that!
Whether others like them or not, religious zionists are part of orthodoxy.
Agreed, Shabbat and Kosher…that is what it takes, to be part of the Khella.
1700 years without a Sanhedrin, and still so many keep the Torah ( to whatever extent they can) by their own Volition…H’Y on the Benai Yisrael…1700 ( plus) years with no central authority and a Minimum of 1/3 still want Mosheach and try to keep the Torah.
Today, the vast majority of the yeshivish, chassidish and sefardic chareidi world have their representatives in the Knesset as well as cabinet members in the government. So they are therefore now much more accepting of the secular Zionist government and much closer to the Religious Zionists than they were in the past.
